Dental Implants
Dental implants are ideal for people who have a missing tooth. Dental implants are replacement tooth roots and they provide a strong foundation for fixed (permanent) or removable replacement teeth that are made to match your natural teeth.
A dental implant resembles a natural tooth in that there is a root (below the gums) and a crown (above the gums). Once the implant is placed, time is allowed for the jawbone to heal and grow around the dental implant, creating a strong bond. This is important to help anchor and stabilize the implant in place. Following the placement of the implant, a support post (abutment) is placed and then a new replacement tooth (crown). In many cases, a temporary replacement tooth can be attached to the top of the implant immediately after placement.

There are many advantages of Dental Implants including:
Improved appearance- dental implants look and feel like your own teeth.
Improved speech- Unlike poor-fitting dentures, the teeth can slip within the mouth causing you to mumble or slur your words. Dental implants allow you to speak without the worry that your teeth might slip.
Easier eating- Sliding dentures can make chewing difficult, dental implants function like your own teeth, allowing you to eat with confidence and without pain.
Improved self-esteem- Dental implants can give you back your smile and help you feel better about yourself.
Improved oral health- Dental implants don’t require reducing other teeth, as a tooth-supported bridge does. Because nearby teeth are not altered to support the implant, more of your own teeth are left intact, improving long-term oral health.
Durability- Implants are designed to last many years and are very durable. With good oral care, many implants can last a lifetime.
Convenience- Dental implants do not require any special solution or adhesive like dentures do. The level of care they require is what you would already do for your real teeth.
